Only in the movies.

A guy and a girl, both ridiculously attractive. The guy has survived a plane crash (because seriously, who hasn't?) and the girl is assigned as his shrink. The guy turns out to have the mental resilience of an underpaid and overzealous stuntman and clearly does not need a shrink; in fact, he is euforic, which is apparently quite common among attractive plane crash survivers.

Okay, I'll buy that.

The guy likes the girl, because she is pretty and sleeps naked, but the girl has a stong moral centre and refuses to give in to the guy's advances. She calls it ethics. He calls it a challenge. The guy is not only resilient, he is also stubborn. And rich, did I mention that? He is, of course, a wildly succesful business man (because, again, who isn't, these days?) who owns a boat. Why not. The guy makes it his mission to woo the girl.

Still with me?

The guy also has a twisted sense of humour. This is exemplified in a rooftop scene halfway into the film, where the guy scares the pants off the girl (not literally, not yet) by pretending to jump off the ledge. I would consider this morbid but evidently this is sexy. Who knew?

But get this.

The guy takes the girl with him on a boat trip in the middle of the night. The guy suddenly strips because he has decided to go for a dip. The girl objects, but not too much, so he dives in. And stays under. And under. And under. The girl panics and jumps in after him fully clothed, only for him to reappear as soon as she is in the water, big smile upon his face.

Now, suspension of disbelief aside, that right there would get me a thorough kick in the balls. It gets him a lay.

If only the real world worked like that.

FYI, the film is Passengers. Not a very good film, but not a very bad one either. Bland is the word. If you have any intention of watching this film, do not click this link. It will spoil the film for you.

I warned you.

Her ethics don't prevent her from hanging out on his boat?
