Unpresidented.

All those long months of tirelessly chanting 'Yes, we can' at rallies and debates and conventions. And guess what, he was right. He could, and he did.

I remember, what, maybe ten years ago, people snuffing at the notion of Colin Powell running for president of the United States of America. He's a black man, don't be silly. And now, as little as ten years later, november 2008, and the one thing I genuinely never expected would happen in my lifetime has happened yesterday.

Barack Hussein Obama, a black man, a man with a name sounding like not one, but two well-known terrorists, the son of divorced parents, an American mother and a Kenian father, a man we'd never even heard of as little as four years ago, was elected president of the United States of America. Commander-in-chief. Leader of the free world. And not by a narrow margin, either.

Will the world notice a change for the better? Possibly. Is the US a better place, then? Perhaps. Will George W. be missed in the comedy industry? Oh yes. And then some.

Obama

I am happy to see that the world has a little bit of suprise left in it.
