And I'm not even counting porn.

It's been a full year since I started keeping track of the films I'm watching - between december 1st 2008 and november 30th 2009 I watched a grand total of 335 films, which is not quite an average of a film a day (which is what I keep aiming for), but it's a considerably better average than in 2006, the last time I kept track, when I watched 188 films in a year.

I suppose the increase could possibly/probably be attributed to being a single man again, which you could regard as a sad reality indeed, but fuck that, I like films. And that's the story I'm sticking to.

One of the beauties of not being attached, is the ability to view a 16, 20, or 24 episode Korean drama in one shot. Marathon viewing. It's not for everyone, you need stamina, and a basically obsessive love of the good old silver screen.

I can do easily three movies a day when the mood is on.

I have loved movies since I was a little kid. Could say it was an early (mainline) addiction.

Nice to meet a fellow junky.

Have you seen "American Women"?

Films are definitely an addiction in the sense that I get grumpy if I haven't seen one in a while.

On a day off, I'll typically do three films, also, but I'm the uncultured film junkie: I mainly go for the silly Hollywood films.

Haw haw, like I'm culturally inclined. My taste in books and movies leaves my educated friends aghast.

I try to explain: I do not wish to be uplifted, thanks anyway. Oh, my reading habits...well, if it's a bit violent (bit?) and very funny, I will love it. Joe R, Lansdale, and James Lee Burke come to mind.... No dear, I'll get my own books. Thanks anyway. Nice of you to offer. (The do try. I give the books to the local Library.)

I run screaming away from cultcha. I did discover Korean fare (due to an erotic Korean movie) and it's often great shit. There's a flick called Running 7 Dogs that is so bloody and so bloody funny...I called it the Korean Pulp Fiction. Great stuff.

I love the Lethal Weapon flicks because they blow stuff up. Same for The Fugitive, great train wreck.

Do you like bizarro?

There's one called, In America. Very weird and very good.

American Women is Irish, and while not The Full Monty, it has it's moments in abundance. I think you'd like it.

Erotica? The Korean movie La Belle, don't let the title fool you.

I don't know where you are. If in the US, Google La Belle + Korean movie. You'll get stuff up, some reviews included. You might hit one of mine. (stuffy and full of myself...I shoulda just said I liked watching them fuck).

Still available here in the US. I have 3 copies. (unhealthy fear of screwing a disc up...buy a few extras)

I guess I like watching them fuck.

Green Chair, another Korean erotic film, as is Yellow Flower. Both have merit where cinematography is concerned. Heavy sex is the main attraction though.

Every frame of La Belle is exquisite. Plus they fuck.

Hope you're feeling better.

So wait a minute. What you're saying is, you like to see them fuck? Your post is so subtle, I could not be sure.

Do I come across as American? If so, I'll go take a shower, thank you very much.

You may be uncultured, but you have the Korean stuff to fall back on. Which, if not cultured (and somewhat porn-y), at least seems cultured to the uninitiated. I do have 'Oldboy' and 'I'm A Cyborg But That's Okay' on my list (though I fear they are slighty too off-kilter for my tastes). And I loved 'Casshern' and 'Goemon' for their sheer visual awesomeness, though I'm not sure if they are Korean. Plus, of the Hollywood fare, I do try to catch the better films - the rest is just filler.

I don't buy discs anymore. I'm of the Internet generation, I download my fix. Don't tell anyone, though, or they'll come get me.

Yes, I like watch Oh Ji Ho and Lee Ji Hyeon doing it. They're very agile and sexy.

A lot of Korean stuff is complex. The dramas I mentioned are soap operas. They call them mini series. They're somewhat bland a lot of the time. Good as tranquilizers.

A lot of the Korean movies are very abstract. I sort of steeped myself in the culture because of the site I have dedicated to Oh Ji Ho (he has a nice ass, a good enough reason to sing his praises).

I wound up lurking at forums to garner data for my site, and met a lot of Asian women, some of whom I really liked a lot. I couldn't believe how raunchy they can get, and they're very funny too.

Maybe that contact made me more comfortable with Asian fare.

Chinese stuff is entirely different from Korean. I surprise myself by being able to pick up on it (the differences).

I often find the Asians very beautiful to look at. Americans can be so bovine. Especially in areas like the one I live in. And "god" knows they can certainly be narrow minded and stoopid (voting for George Bush being one example).

No, I didn't for a moment think you are an American, I thought you might be living here in the states, New York maybe.(Only city worth living in.)

I wish I were elsewhere myself. Crass country, this. If I were in N.Y. I'd be okay. I'm not okay.

Oddly, I haven't seen "Oldboy", or "I am a Cyborg".

I hope you're getting healthy again.

Sleep a lot, and be a bad boy. Regards to Noodle.

Bovine. Interesting. I don't quite see that. I'd say I'm the opposite, I much prefer looking at a pretty Westerner.

No comment on the narrowmindedness, though. Although, China is still a communist country, no? So who's better off?

Anyway, to shy away from politics, let's agree that just about everything in Asia (landscape-wise) is prettier than anything the West has to offer. I'd love to sample it one day.

Speaking of sleep, it's well past 2 am. Shower, then sleep.

I'm Dutch.
