Two thousand and what now?

Forget the Mayan mythology they are trying to portray, to dizzying effect, in 2012 - this is how a colleague of mine described the film:

"The sun falls onto the Earth making it melt from the inside out."

Which, let's be honest, sounds like a much more interesting film.
