In Bruges.

"They're filming midgets" ... in Bruges, of all places. In Bruges is a splendid film about two Irish hit men who are sent into hiding by their gangster boss after they botch a job. They are sent to Bruges, the oldest and best maintained medieval city in Belgium, only to learn that the most damning and difficult job awaits one of them just around the corner.

I'm not a fan of Colin Farrell, who plays one of the Irish hitmen (a marvelous Brendan Gleeson being the other), but even he does a great job. This is a true gem, one of the finest and funniest films I have seen in a long time. The dark comedy built around the existential, guilt-ridden quandaries of hit men has been done a million times over, but writer/director Martin McDonagh bleeds the setting, the material and the actors for all their worth and makes his feature film debut in superb style.

Besides, how can a film featuring Colin Farrell karate-chopping a midget go wrong?!

Told you.
