Martin, you don't really know me but I read your blog and I'm delurking because I feel compelled to play the devil's advocate.
It may be true that Jacko has molested boys. However you cannont convict him because he might have molested some boy. In this particular case, with this particular set of facts, the prosecution did not prove their case beyond a resonable doubt. It's as simple as that. The mother and the two boys were continually caught in lies. The prosecution said that they had witnesses who would say Jacko molested them but then the said witneses came on stand and said just the opposite. You want them to convict him when that's the best the prosecution can do? It would have been a mochery to the American justice system if he was convicted.
That said, if it is true that Jacko has molested other boys, then you find the other boys and you bring them to court with a better set of facts and prove it beyond a resonable doubt. Then I'll agree with all y'all if he still walks.
I had this discussion the other day with a friend. I'll agree with you on the fact that the verdict was the correct one, based on the trial. The prosecuter fucked up, simple as that.
However, that will not make me accept Michael Jackson for who he is - I won't be shaking his hand and buying him a beer if he happens to walk into my local pub.
That was my point. In my mind he's guilty, no matter what those 12 Jack 'n Jills say.
Ah, well in that case Martin, I completely respect and agree with you. Jackson terrfies me and in my mind he certainly is guilty, though I'm not sure he knows that what he's doing is wrong and if he went with the insanity defense I would most certainly lock him up.
I also agree that it is absolutely unbelievable that a prosecution could screw a case up that badly. Eight of the twelve jurors had children and the majority of the jurors were women. Could you ask for a more sympathetic jury for a child molestation case?
Oh, and I'll try to delurk more often. I enjoy your posts!
Crap, I knew I'd messed myself up soon enough. I know you (or you know me?) from way back when, on the Cow and Chicken board. I was just feeling shy and didn't want you to know who I was. But I buggered that up as usual.
My parents really do like Star Wars though--they kinda passed it on to me. :)

That is not what is unbelievable.
>>Later, in an interview on "Larry King Live," Hultman said he believes Jackson "probably has molested boys."<<
Making such a statement after you have cleared someone, should simply not be allowed. I find that truely sick.
The law is indeed a fucking git!
So, on all ten counts if ONE says he's innocent then everyone else's verdict counts for shit?
Wankers!

That's life in the world of the rich & famous. Money talks, Michael walks.
How .. I'm still .. whuh .. pfft!
America has gone apeshit.
Cheers

Hi Leia,
I had this discussion the other day with a friend. I'll agree with you on the fact that the verdict was the correct one, based on the trial. The prosecuter fucked up, simple as that.

Leia,
I'll agree to that - I do believe that MJ did something wrong, but I'm not wholly convinced of the fact that he knows he did something wrong.
Which, perhaps, is even scarier than when he does know.
So, your parents liked Star Wars, did they? (God, you must get that a lot.)
Cheers

~Joeli (who wishes she had a cool name like Leia)
Joeli - does ring a bell, yes. I'm afraid to venture a guess as to what your login name was there. Did it have to do with sports?
Anyway, Joeli is a cooler name than Leia. Unless you're wearing a golden bikini, of course.
You're not, are you?
Cheers
Yup, that's me, redsoxfan007.
And no, no gold bikini. Sorry, gold isn't really a flattering color on me. I much prefer silver.
Silver will do. Silver will do just fine.
Cheers
