Fountain of youth.
Wanna stay young? Adhere to these rules, and you'll be fine.
Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.
Utter bullshit, of course, but it sounds good, and that's all that matters.
Class dismissed.

- Throw out non-essential numbers. This includes age, weight and height - let the doctor worry about them. That is why you pay him.
- Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down.
- Keep learning; Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever floats your boat. Never let the brain idle. "An idle mind is the devil's workshop."
- Enjoy the simple things.
- Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath.
- The tears happen. Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person who is with us our entire life, is ourselves. Be alive while you are alive.
- Surround yourself with what you love, whether it's family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever. Your home is your refuge.
- Cherish your health: If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable, improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.
- Don't take guilt trips. Take a trip to the mall, to the next county, to a foreign country, but not to where the guilt is.
- Tell the people you love that you love them, at every opportunity.

Just out of curiosity what does this do for the people that are already old?
Awww....Martin... Just for that post alone I would come visit you in the Netherlands.
Yay!
Alexandrea: Absolutely nothing, I'm afraid.
Jootastic: Oh goody! I'll go lock my girlfriend in the attic again so we'll have the entire house to ourselves. Oh, and bring Scrabble along.

Hey hey hey, the old favourite!
I remember putting this up and it was your good self that pointed out who actually said it.
Cheers for that!
:)
True, that. One of my first comments on your blog.
Ah, those were the days, when I could really enjoy pointing out people's mistakes, and make a case of publicly correcting them.
Good times.

Happy Birthday, scoundral! :-)
Best Wishes

Much obliged, my silly friend.

Yes, yes. Happy birthday!

Good stuff. Post this again when we're older and still blogging....
Lies - thank you very much. Officially it isn't my birthday anymore (past 2 AM over here), but I'm still in the festive mood! So thanks!
Cedia - I'll try to remember that (that's if Alzheimer's doesn't get the better of me).
Cheers
Well happy afterbirth(day) then, you nitpick!
— Lies
Whaaaaat - what did I do?
Cheers
Now we'll have to wait until next year to get it right, that's what you did. ;o)
— Lies
Yeah, you'll have to buy me an extra nice gift!
Cheers
