The Lord of the .. huh?!

I just (literally just) did a Lord of the Rings-marathon - yup, us idiots watched the entire damn thing (that means all three films, extended editions et al) in one mind-fucking, time-consuming, ass-numbing, legs-stiffening, chips-eating go. It was fantastic. All courtesy, I might add, of my lovely girlfriend, who gave me the entire DVD boxset (12 discs!) for my upcoming birthday.

This is not the review (you can expect that one within the next week), this is just two things I noticed while watching this cinematic behemoth.

  1. I swear to god that Frodo Elijah Baggins Wood has had his eyes surgically enlarged - there's no way in this world that a person can have eyes that big without, say, bugs flying into them all the bloody time.

  2. How on earth is Viggo Aragorn Strider Mortensen supposed to portray a royal knight, a heroic warrior, a king even, when the man sounds like a friggin' Muppet!?
's All.

Cheers

I'm not a LOTR fan (I'm mostly scared of the people who obsess ofer those movies) but I believe Elijah Wood to be a Japanese anime character brought to life - he may be nothing more than a hologram... those crafty Japanese people, no wonder Gwen Stefani likes them so much!

Dammit, why didn't I think of that!? That must be it! And here I was, thinking that he'd had his eyes enlarged by having implants inserted or something - silly me.

Those wacky Japanese - first Aiko (or something) the mechanical dog, and now this!

ha! I never noticed that. I guess I was too occupied with trying to figure out where the Elf Guy (Orlando Bloom) keeps getting his endless supply of arrows?.

I could have played the role of Frodo: have big eyes and big feet, and even dark curly hair. Remains the mere fact that I'm a girl and I can't act, but no-one would have seen the difference.

I think you're a bit too tall to play a hobbit, don't you?
