Easily pleased.

I realised something about myself, recently - when it comes to films, I'm very easily pleased.

I consider myself a movie-buff; ask me anything about any (mainstream) film released between 1980 and the present and chances are I'll know the answer (feel free to test me on this). I also have a formidable DVD-collection - over a hundred films, which, considering I'm a perpetually poor student, isn't bad. All in all, I love films. Period.

But a couple of days ago I realised that it has been ages since I saw a film at the cinema which I really, genuinely, disliked. Now, this could be down to my immaculate film-picking methods, but I don't think that that's it. Of course I'll decide whether or not I'll go see a film as soon as I hear or read about it, and that way I'll trim out the ones I'm sure I won't like, but I can't be right all the time, can I?

It's just that, I like everything - I can find something to enjoy in every film I go to see. Films I like can range from the run-of-the-mill blockbuster such as Spiderman 1 & 2, The bourne Identity & Supremacy to the lower budget arthouse films such as Amelie, Lost In Translation and Lola Rennt.

Does this make me less of a movie-lover?

Cheers
