Next year's theme: bling fucking bling, bitches!
Speaking of the Oscars.
Lets talk about the Oscar for the best original song for a bit, shall we?
Three 6 Mafia won, for their (wait for it) It's Hard Out There For A Pimp, from the film Hustle & Flow. I'm not familiar with this particular song, but I also wasn't familiar with its competition -Kathleen York's In The Deep, from Crash, and Dolly Parton's Travelin' Thru, from Transamerica- so I'm not the one to judge the Academy's decision.
However. Take a quick look at their acceptance speech.
Now, I'm not at all a racist, not in the slightest, but if I were black, I'd want to seriously hurt these guys for a) embarassing me, b) disrespecting the Oscars's (albeit shoddy) tradition of everyone at the very least attempting to be classy for one evening in the year, c) being hugely inarticulate and failing to enunciate in every possible way, d) falling all over eachother and themselves, and finally e) lacking grace, poise or eloquence of any kind.
But then, I'm white, and my people did well *.
Cheers
* Lighten up, will you?
