Nuh uh. Nope. Never happened.

The day before yesterday, december 11th, 2006, was the day of the Holocaust Convention in Tehran, Iran. However, this wasn't a 'run-of-mill' Holocaust Convention (if a convention about the Holocaust can ever be labelled 'run-of-the-mill'), no, this was a convention "away from Western taboos and the restriction imposed on them in Europe", as said by the convention's organisor, Rasoul Mousavi, head of the Iranian Foreign Ministry’s Institute for Political and International Studies.

In other words, this convention gave room to people who would be shunned at a similar convention, if held in the Western world. Holocaust deniers; people like David Duke, the American white-supremacist slash politician slash former Ku Klux Klan leader, and Georges Thiel, a French writer who faced prosecution in his home country for denying the Holocaust ever took place.

The entire convention was set up to create awareness, worldwide, of the myth that is the Holocaust. Turns out the entire shebang never actually happened, and was made up for a twofold of reasons - 1) to give the Allied troops a reason to take the moral high ground and invade Europe, and 2) to allow the Jews to establish a state on the occupied land of Palestine.

Now, I'm all for freedom of speech and all that; let them huddle together and have their parties, discussing their conspiracy theories, but the thing is ...

I don't believe this convention ever took place. I'm pretty sure it never happened, all this hoo-hah.

Yup, I'm an Holocaust Convention denier.

Cheers

And I deny even reading this post!

At least negationism is illegal in Belgium. Phew! And not even those pesky Iranians can do anything about that.
